Meme time

Act your age?: Rarely. Not that I really believe that there should be much emphasis, if any, on what people seem to like calling "age appropriate behaviour". Some days I'm seven, some days seventeen, and some days seventy. Just depends which mood and physical state you happen to catch me in.

Born on what day of the week?: Tuesday. For some reason, I don't need to look that up. I just know it.

Chore you hate?: Anything that involves bending down, like picking up crap and stuff, because it really kills my back.

Dog's Name: None at the moment, though I kind of have occasional coresponsibility for Sophie and Jess.

Essential make-up item: None.

Favorite Actor/Actress: Toughie... probably Judi Dench.

Gold or Silver?: Copper. But silver if I must, but if we're going to do precious metals then platinum, please.

Hand you write with?: Both. Usually right, but can switch when needed. My handwriting's bad with either hand :)

Instruments you play?: Play well? none. Can pick up and tootle/strum/etc without causing severe wincing? keyboards/recorder/flute/saxophone/clarinet/horn. Just don't let me near a violin if you fancy your sanity.

Job title?: *chuckle* "Hired brain" would be the ideal one. At the moment I'm a tech editor/author.

Kids?: None yet.

Living arrangements?: Semidetached house, shared with stgpcm.

Make of vehicle?: Jus drives it. It's a Citroen. I'm not interested in cars, so I can't tell you any more than that.

Number of people you've slept with?: Oh my. Many many.

Overnight hospital stays?: Lots. Until I was twelve, I don't think there was a year when I didn't spend my birthday or Christmas in hospital. Most recently, a couple of years ago when I had The Worst Headache In The World and lots of my neurological signs went haywire. Tension headache? yeah, right. Buggered if I know what it was, though.

Phobias?: Falling. Bridges over water. Strangulation. Sharp things.

Quote you like?:
The man is awake now
He can't get to sleep again.
So he repeats these words
Over and over again:
Bravery. Kindness. Clarity.
Honesty. Compassion. Generosity.
Bravery. Honesty. Dignity.
Clarity. Kindness. Compassion.
-- Laurie Anderson, Forgetting

Rock Groups?: Nah. I'm in a mediaeval/renaissance phase right now. But this gives me the perfect opportunity to rant that nobody seems to know about Robert Carver or perform any of his works. I'm in the middle of sequencing his L'homme Armé mass (incidentally the only LHA mass known by a British composer), and it's bloody stunning, though it'd be a bugger to perform. Some of that passagework is scary, and even worse he expects altos to be competent :D

Siblings?: One younger sister.

Time you wake up?: When my body wants, ideally. Otherwise when the pain gets too bad, or Justin's alarm goes off at sevenish.

Unique habit?: I doubt there's anything unique.

Vegetable you refuse to eat?: None, though there are some I'd prefer to avoid if there's a choice.

Worst habit?: Overanalysing.

X-Rays you've had?: *shakes head* I probably glow in the dark by now. Every time I get a back treatment, it has to be done under continuous X-ray monitoring. Apart from that, I've broken rather a lot of bones, so I doubt there's much of me that hasn't been X-rayed by now.

Yummy food you make?: All of it. The current loveliness, which is simmering for tonight's roleplaying session as I write, is a turkey, sweetcorn and garlic soup thickened with fine polenta. It's absolutely lovely, and will probably become one of my "standard" soups.

Zodiac sign?: Virgo. Earth Pig.
