OK, clever people, mathsgeeks, etc...

Consider n equally mutually repelling points constrained to the surface of a sphere. Is there an obvious way to find the minimum-energy configuration for any n, or in other words, such that the points are the maximum distance away from each other?

I think where n is the vertex number of a Platonic solid it's trivvy. n = 1 and 2, similarly. 3 - the vertices of an equilateral triangle? 5 - a tetrahedral biprism?
