Is it really bad of me to read a particular someone's journal just so I can feel good that I'm not as shallow and self-centered as they are?
Right, I'm off to have my back surged... surgeried... surgeoned... surgeonised? Why isn't there a verb derived from 'surgeon'? "To perform surgery on" / "to have surgery performed on" are just too unwieldy.
Because Bryan's taking me there, I'll probably go back to B&K's for a few hours' recuperation, so I may not be back until late this evening. Wish me well - I'm due to report to X-ray at 2.30, so good thoughts for an hour or two after that will be most welcome.
Am a lot better than last night, thanks to you all and to watching Hannibal which is an absolutely splendid film, even if it did play fast and loose rather with the plot of the book. I still don't see why people think of it as 'horror' when it's obviously a romance story. I don't - really don't like horror films, but Hannibal made me cry because it was so sad. And the music - particularly that aria - was wonderful.
