All in all, a pretty good day.

I could have done with more sleep last night, but the few hours I got were fairly refreshing.

Four Thomas Ravenscroft rounds sequenced (Oken Leaves, New Oysters, O Lord Turne Not Away Thy Face, and Blow Thy Horne Thou Jolly Hunter). Am finally getting to grips with Melody Assistant's part-sequencing toolkit. New Oysters is an utter bugger, the barring sequence being 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 2/4, 3/4, 3/4, 2/4, 2/4, and, since MA for some reason doesn't consider time-signatures to be copiable items, there's a lot of frigging-about to do before cut and paste will work properly.

Great fun at the Amber game tonight, even though, being druggy, I wasn't at my sparkliest. Joseph (my character) almost called someone out for a duel at a banquet after said person had made what seemed to be a remark implying that Joseph was getting off with one of the serving-boys[1]. Oh, it's weird fun playing someone with serious levels of guilt and internalised homophobia - I do enjoy playing characters that aren't me. If it'd been me that Darius had made the remark to, I'd just have grinned and wished him luck finding a complaisant scullery-maid, but Joseph is so tense in case anyone finds out he's not straight that even innocent remarks like Darius's (I think it was innocent) get interpreted in a paranoiac way. I do hope the wineglass Joseph crushed rather than saying anything wasn't too precious...

Still not King :) but still the prettiest. Maybe. A bit. Apart from the squished nose he got from fighting the pseudo-Julian.

Lots of coffee and good nibbles at the game, too: little Thai crackers, cheese (Roquefort and Gorgonzola), chocolate (plain and milk) and Haribo sour jellies.

Ah well, pit time, I'm so sleepy...

[1] Ooh, I get to do a Jed footnote! Actually, Kent (the servant) is some kind of per-Shadow analogue of Kenton, Joseph's "best buddy" back in New Albion. It seems that Mama (the Lady Florimel) is rather proud of her boy's ability to do this, even though he hasn't walked the Pattern yet. Oh cool, a cute red-haired studly potential lover in every Shadow! *dreamy smile*

  • Catchup...

I should have posted this earlier, but, what with one thing and another, this has been quite a busy week. If you weren't at Warwick Arts Centre last…

  • There's nothing quite so much fun as wonky hearing.

It was only yesterday that I discovered that the lyrics to Enigma's Mea Culpa part II don't in fact contain the words "Branle-moi; je suis sur…

  • Portico Quartet
