Fascist fizz.

I don't know if any of you read Private Eye, but today I read in one of the articles in the current issue that Fanta was developed for the Nazis.

It seemed rather odd, and I promised mrph, with whom I was lunching, that I'd fact-check when I got home.

Surprise, surprise. At least according to this page, Coca Cola were indeed very pro-Nazi back in the 1930s and 40s, and Fanta was developed for the Third Reich when they ran out of Coca Cola syrup.
