Peculiar simile.

Within the last few days I've read - probably on LJ, possibly elsewhere - someone disparaging public journaling/blogging by comparing it to "masturbating while watching yourself in a mirror". That's no doubt not an accurate quotation, but it's the gist of it.

Now that struck me as odd. Never mind whether journalling is a good or bad thing, ditto masturbation - it seemed a peculiar association to me. So, as the topic has come up - a poll! No IP logging, comment anonymously if you wish.

Heavens, I'm beginning to feel like rhino's assistant with all these polls :)
