If you're about to delete your LJ, but you don't want people to freak, or, conversely, you don't care if people freak, but you don't want people to wonder why, post here right before you delete your LJ, so people know what's going on.
What a sane idea. This could minimise a lot of drama.
Then again, it could be used to create drama, I suppose, if people were minded to do that.
Maybe LJ itself could take the idea on board, so that when you delete your journal you could supply a "Goodbye, cruel world!" text that would be displayed on the "Journal has been deleted" page for the 30-day grace period.
