Too ill to role-play this weekend, but I really wanted to see katherinedeane last night, so against common sense we drove over to Birmingham. I suspect, from what I can remember, that I had a fever and babbled a lot.
The storm wasn't kind to the house, I'm afraid; it fairly demolished the guttering, so that's the best part of £100 that I don't have for parts and tools so we can do the repair. I hope bank managers are more understanding in January. At least we'll have a ladder to lend to people around here if they need to make any roof repairs in the future.
I have AT LAST finished The Road Taken. True to its nature, the ending changed as I was writing it in a way that I hadn't anticipated. I think it's better for it, though. With polishing it'll come in at around 13,000 - 13,500 words, I think. In a way I'm quite sorry that it's Amberverse fic, because that means that it can't be 'properly' published; at least, unless Zelazny's estate doesn't object. Then again, it wasn't written for that, so I suppose that it mustn't matter. I suppose that I could rewrite it to eliminate those features; I don't know whether it would be better or worse for that. I'm happy to take advice.
Beta readers wanted, yes please; particularly anyone from the Monday night Amber game (including of course _gh0st_, lurkingcat and ankaret) since they're most aware of the plot at the back of the story.
