I'm at a point in Ranulf where I really have to think about things very carefully and do rather a lot of research (you wouldn't believe the size of my ILL list!) before I do anything with it, and so I'm going to make a bash at His Bright Designs, which has been sitting in the pre-planning phase for far too long.
I mean, one can really only spend so long in the "First person, or third? limited, omniscient, reliable or unreliable..." phase and then one just ought to settle down and do something with the ideas. Even if it's just going to end up in the circular file, it doesn't matter, does it? The writing's the thing.
As a tribute to writers of former times, I'm now going to take a clean white sheet of typing paper and stare hopelessly at it for ten minutes. Then I'll fire up my trusty word processor and get to writing :)
