I'm back! I ought to have posted this yesterday, but I did the sensible thing instead and rested.

The surgery went fine, apparently. It's too early to tell whether it's worked yet (I still feel like I've been kicked *hard* in the lower back) and Richard decided to do only my right side this time to see how it goes, so I'm at most half-done.

Midazolam (the intravenous sedation) is very weird. I can't remember anything at all between it going into the Venflon in my right hand and waking up on the ward, though apparently I'd been awake and talkative several times.

Thank you all so much for all the good wishes! I'm going to rest some more (sitting up isn't tremendously comfortable) and I'll update soon.
