"The love of eating blue cheese", for the Greek-impaired.
I've recently been introduced to a wonderful new(ish) blue cheese. It's called Blacksticks Blue, and it's from Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses. The pack describes it as "A unique, soft blue cheese, handmade on Butlers farm in Lancashire. It has a subtle amber hue, a deliciously creamy but tangy flavour and a superb melt in the mouth texture." While I loathe advertising puffery, this actually seems to be bang on the nail, modulo punctuation. It's as buttery as a good farmhouse Lancashire, and I think it's probably as good as a decent Stilton for those port and walnuts moments, if not better. If you want more details, look here. I'm sorry for people outside the UK, because it seems to be available only here.
That does assume that people do like blue cheeses, of course. To discover which of you do, I've made a little poll. Do enlighten me, please!
