Just as I was opening my presents and cards, there was a loudish crunching and grinding sound nearby. I assumed that the factory near them was running a late shift, but apparently not... so we went out into the road. There's a sharp bend at the end of the road which drivers often take too fast, or without care, with the predictable consequences. Thus it was this time. A car was sitting in the middle of the road upside-down.
We called the ambulance and the police; the police, because the first thing the driver said was "Don't call anyone, I'm drunk." It turned out that she was.
As if that wasn't bad enough, she was also driving without insurance. And to cap it all — she turned out to be a law student.
Apart from that it was a great evening. Thank you both once again for the lovely cards and presents.
We went home fairly early, as it turned out that Jus was needed to give Michelle a lift into work today because her car was in for major repairs. Because he'd have to dash off fast in the morning, he gave me my presents before we went to sleep. A new game (Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines), and a copy of The Muddle-headed Wombat in the Treetops. Yaaaaaaaay! He's so lovely, and I'm so lucky.
I have a shrink appointment this morning to fix the dosage problem, and I need to wrap up and post the chili chocolates for
Toodles!
