So. An interesting meeting with Dr Karir this morning. We got the venlafaxine dosage sorted out: 75mg at night, 37.5 in the morning, to be reviewed after six weeks. So that's one muddle cleared up.
Then came the real fun. I reminded her that I'd asked for depression and anxiety management counselling last year, and that they'd first screwed up by assuming that I wanted pain management counselling. Then, after that was cleared up, they sent me a stupid questionnaire at the end of April, which I tried to fill in as best I could. Since then I'd heard nothing, and it's the middle of September. She looked back through my file and found a letter from Counselling Services dated mid-May which simply said "We aren't going to counsel him for the same reason as we gave you before." That is, that they don't do pain management counselling.
This makes me quite angry. Firstly, they've obviously ignored Dr Khan's letter to them before April telling them that it wasn't a referral for pain management; secondly, they didn't see fit at either time to tell me why they weren't able to help; thirdly, Dr Khan didn't tell me back in May/June that they'd just batted it back to him.
Dr Karir has promised to get this cleared up. I still trust her. This had better be cleared up promptly and with Counselling Services off their arses and doing something for me or I'll be needing fucking anger management counselling as well.
As it is, I've just done five bus journeys to get everything accomplished, and I'm completely shagged. Time for a cup of tea, some drugs, and a lie down.
