Offensiveness

Without wishing to go so far as the E-Prime people, If I Ruled The World I think I'd prohibit[1] (mis)statements such as "This film is offensive".

It's not the film that's offensive; it's you that's offended. That's not a trivial distinction, and people would do well to recognise it.

[1] OK, "deprecate strongly". I'm not very good at authoritarianism.
