I didn't[1], so into the soup instead of huáng jiu[2] went a hefty slosh of Muscatel de Valencia.
I'm really lucky with cookery mishaps[3] (maybe they're just haps, then?) and it tastes wonderful. Not just plain old hot and sour soup any more, it's hot and sweet and sour. I'm going to claim that it was my Cookery Muse inspiring me, not an accident at all.
[1] I shouldn't have needed to; the bottles are quite different shapes and sizes.
[2] Chinese rice wine, if you didn't know.
[3] I expect accusations of unfairness from xlerb.
