A good week, really

I think that, as regards my health, I'm just about back to normal[1], thank goodness. I got called into hospital yesterday for an appointment at the Emergency department. The letter didn't say what this was about; it turned out merely to be an opportunity for them to take my pulse, BP and sats again - no bloods, thank goodness, given how laborious and uncomfortable the last time that they tried was - and for me to tell them that I'm doing fine: no more chest pain, the chest infection's cleared up and the thrombosis has sorted itself out with no evident lasting damage. The only unjoyous aspect was that the doctor with whom I spoke was concerned that my pneumonia may have been initiated by my possibly having had a seizure (which would explain what I was doing naked and wedged under my computer desk in a weird position), and he's going to write to my GP suggesting that I see a neurologist in case my epilepsy is getting worse. I do not want to go back on Epilim/valproate, or anything else that will turn me into a zombie. So: I shan't :)

Today was my last pre-Christmas day at Willow View. Sue, one of the volunteers and my co-editor of the Willow View Newsletter (which, when Ian manages to coördinate matters, will be available in PDF format from the Willow View website - I'll let people know when that's up and running), gave me a £10 HMV token, which was lovely of her. And - even though I wasn't officially 'on duty' - I had a chat with one of our newest service users which, I hope, may have helped him gain a useful insight into how some of his difficulties have arisen; he certainly seemed to be both excited and grateful for it. I love it when things work out well for people.

Really, everything is pretty good. Thanks for (virtually) listening to me babbling!

[1] fsvo normal, of course - in other words, I'm in no worse shape than I usually am :)
