A little more personal detail...

borrowed from imago.

What's on your bedside table?
I don't have a bedside table. I have the Himalayas of Books. Perched thereon is various other stuff I like to have beside me in bed, in particular my drugs.

What's the geekiest part of your music collection?
From a music-geek's point of view, probably my current attempt to transcribe and render the complete works of John Dunstable (or Dunstaple, if you prefer).

What do you eat when you raid the fridge at night?
Cheese, generally. A mug of milk.

What is your secret guaranteed weeping movie?
I don't have one. Whether I weep at a movie or not has far more to do with my current emotional state than with the movie itself.

If you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done?
Practical or utter fantasy? if practical, nothing. Fantasy, I'd turn freckled, green-eyed and curly red-haired. I'd also like to be either a couple of inches taller or about six inches shorter.

Do you have a completely irrational fear?
Yes. Several.

What is the little physical habit that gives away your insecure moments?
Falling on the floor in a screaming little ball.

Do you ever have to beg?
"I have always relied on the kindness of strangers".

Do you have too many love interests?
One can never have too many.

Do you know anyone famous?

Describe your bed:
Too small, as my head gets crushed against the bedhead, my feet dangle freezingly out the bottom, or I have to lie diagonally across it, which is no fun for Jus. I really will have to get my futon back from cyberinsekt.

Spontaneous or plan?
Unless it's Human Combustion, Plan.

Who should play you in a movie about your life?
Someone who can't act very well.

Do you know how to play poker?
Yeah, but I can't get above upper B flat without it squeaking.

What do you carry with you at all times?
Since I spend a goodly time naked, then probably only bellybutton fluff. Otherwise tobacco, a lighter, and whatever spare change I can find lying around. I should like always to have a pen and paper, but I fail dismally at that.

How do you drive?
I don't.

What do you miss most about being little?
My grandmother.

Are you happy with your given name?
Happy to not use it, yes.

How much money would it take to get you to give up the Internet for a year?
Enough to buy many many books, much music, and enough phone calls to keep in touch with the people with whom I would otherwise have been in touch via the Net. A heck of a lot, really.

What color is your bedroom?

What was the last song you were listening to?
The Dunstable setting of the Creed I'm currently working on.

Have you ever been in a school play?
Several. Macbeth, THe Lady's not for Burning, A Man for All Seasons, The Real Inspector Hound...

Who are your best friends?
That I really find impossible to answer. If you're reading this, you're almost certainly on the list.

Have you ever been in love?
Still am.

Do you like yourself and believe in yourself?
No, not really. But that's probably because I do have some kind of wiring-funny in my head that's making it hard to do so right now.

Have you ever done any illegal drugs?

Do you think you're cute?
Too many people have told me that they find me so for me to answer "No", but it's not a term I'd readily use of myself.

Do you consider yourself to be a nice person?
In some senses of the word, yes.

Do you spend more time with your girlfriend, boyfriend, or your friends?
Given I'm fairly housebound, my boyfriend.

  • Catchup...

I should have posted this earlier, but, what with one thing and another, this has been quite a busy week. If you weren't at Warwick Arts Centre last…

  • There's nothing quite so much fun as wonky hearing.

It was only yesterday that I discovered that the lyrics to Enigma's Mea Culpa part II don't in fact contain the words "Branle-moi; je suis sur…

  • Portico Quartet

This is mostly a heads-up to people in and around Coventry, but the Portico Quartet are playing at Warwick Arts Centre on 20 th March at 8pm.…
